Perverse Intimidation
In her congressional testimony on 12/11/2025), Secretary of Homeland Security Noem effectively confessed that one of her agencies, ICE, had attacked and captured immigrants who did not qualify as either illegal, criminal, or otherwise unlawfully in this country.
Isn’t it clear that the chief purpose of the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement measures is to scare people from non-white communities around the world that should they come to the U.S., legally or not, they will be harassed, incarcerated and/or deported? This policy is motivated by Trump’s advisors’ desire to prevent any further diversity in the racial or cultural make-up of the American population.The wide range of origins of this country’s residents accounts for its enviable world leadership. Continued pursuit of Trump’s reactionary goal will inevitably result in destruction of one of America’s most significant characteristics. Let us end this annihilation of our nation’s pride.
