Trump Must Stop Trying to Scare Denmark
President Trump and his Svengali, Stephen Miller, seem to think the Danes will shrink from sovereignty over Greenland just in response to threatening language. In fact, the White House is trying to do the same thing in Venezuela, Iran, Mexico, Cuba, and Nigeria. All without congressional approval.
Well, it’s past time for the pusillanimous members of the House and Senate to abandon their slavery to public opinion polls. They must truly represent the interests of their tax-paying constituents and end this ideological adventurism. They were elected to use their wits on behalf of all of us and to honor the Constitution, not to figure out how the public responds to media propaganda.We American voters have selected congressmen as leaders. Consequently, they shouldn’t follow our wandering sentiments. They should help us find our way.
